Listen To Your Favourite Books at Aberdare Library

July 11, 2008

How do you fancy listening to your favourite book?

Well now you can thanks to an innovative new project being run throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Museum and Libraries Service.

The new collection of digital audio books, which allows you to hear your favourite story when you’re on the move, is spreading throughout the county borough and their popularity is immense.

The digital audio books are pre-loaded books about the size of an iPod that you can listen to at any time, while riding your bike, out jogging, training at the gym or while doing a spot of gardening! They can either hang around your neck or fit in your pocket.

Digital audio books are different to portable cd players because they are self-contained units for each of the books. Easy to operate, particularly if you want to keep on the move while listening to them, the small units are proving a major success already.

The equipment is supplied with two batteries and are used with headphones that you may purchase from the library if you don’t have your own set.

The selection of digital audio books on offer is endless and features bestsellers, non-fiction, crime, and romance. So why not listen to a good book while you’re doing something else? They are all available free of charge so you can’t beat it!

Digital audio books are currently in stock at Aberdare, Church Village, Pontypridd, and Treorchy libraries.

Membership of all Rhondda Cynon Taf’s libraries is free and everyone living or working within the County Borough is welcome to join.
