Saint Mair’s Day Centre in Aberdare, is set to be refurbished from Monday 9th February 2009.
The refurbishments taking place are part of ongoing programme to improve the facilities on offer within the County Borough. During the revamp there will be limited services on offer to clients.
During this period the Day Centre will only be providing the lunch-time service, which takes place between 12.30 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. All other activities at the centre have been suspended during this time.
Customers are advised that there will be no access to the building from the front entrance and are advised to enter via the temporary access at the rear of the building, off Pembroke Street. However this will only be open to clients when the meals on wheels vans are off site.
It is anticipated that the works should be completed by 2nd March, however this is an estimated timescale and is subject to change.
The Meals on Wheels service in the area will operate as normal during this time.
Councillor, John David, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “The Council continues to be committed to investing in the facilities and services we offer in the community.”
